Our
philosophy for the office
The Meaning of Life
Each person upon reflecting on the life we each will lead and the
lives others have led may ask at sometime "Why am I here? What is
my purpose? Does anything have any meaning?" Not that an answer can
be found, but an observation such as from Viktor Frankel in "Man's
Search for Meaning" is that whatever meaning is felt, found or
chosen depends on the meaning to others. As can be asked in the
end "What have you done for others?" And so our meaning here
can be sought through "What do we do for those who express their
needs to us, and who give us their trust?" And the answer
must be that we do our best for them.
In the search for and
creation of beauty there is the opportunity to leave the world a better
place to live in, to serve others, to be kind and charitable by creating
beauty for others. These activities are right and good and have provided
life meaning for many humans.
Creating beauty in
life is meaningful. To create something that rings with beauty and
harmony is a powerful antidote to a sense of meaninglessness. The
creation of beauty justifies itself Beauty defies the question,
Why? It is it’s own reason for being.
Creating beauty for others
to have, for others to see all their lives is even more meaningful than
for oneself.
In our work we seek to
create beauty in order to improve the condition of the world. We search
for, find and create beauty, not for its own sake, but for the
enhancement of the lives of others.
The Key to Happiness
Kindness is the key. Because the greatest happiness that endures is
having made someone else happy. Seeking happiness for ourselves directly
can be a trap leading to addiction, unhappiness and depression. Making others happy
through kindness that may require effort and discomfort to ourselves is
more likely to be satisfying. Here the maximum kindness is to find and
give our patients what is most beneficial. That is the best possible
result in both the permanent beauty and in the gentleness and comfort of
the experience.
The more one seeks
happiness, the more it will elude one. It cannot be sought directly with
success. It comes from doing good for the benefit of others. Self esteem
comes from doing something of which we can be
proud.
The Purpose in Living
Each person seeks and we hope finds some purpose. The purpose may be
chosen from the available alternatives. To have the most meaning and provide
the most happiness and benefit to others will be the greatest purpose.
The dedication to the creation of the most
beauty for the benefit of others transcends self interest and gives
purpose and meaning.
Here we choose to give the highest quality experience and
best possible results
of what we do.
Our Goal
All considered, our goal has been chosen to be the best
result possible. This fits our meaning of creating for others and
the maximum kindness. It is what everyone wants. The process and the experience as well as the final appearance are
included as the result.
Our Motto
A fitting motto is "Be kind". The maximum kindness we can
do is get the best possible result.
A Work of Art
Like a stone wants to be a beautiful sculpture and a brick wants to
be a part of a great cathedral, we all want like a brick or a stone to
be a part of something that is greater than ourselves, which like a work
of art is an enduring pleasure to others. Our goal is the creation of
astounding, completely natural beauty.
Mona Lisa
The Mona Lisa is the most famous work of art in the world. And yet
the subject, the lady in the picture is unknown. Not a king or queen or
a movie star. And our finest work can also be on anyone.
Mozart’s Principle
Mozart died in poverty and was buried in an unmarked pit for paupers.
So no matter how great our art, we may die in poverty if we don't take
care of business.
For Life
These include finding a home
and friendship in the world, acting for freedom, rebellion against
injustice, service to others, enlightenment, self-realization and work
toward a meaningful goal.
